"We are all in the hands of God!"
Pip is a young man who serves as cabin boy on the whale-ship, The Pequod. One day he is on a chase boat, but as soon as a whale has been harpooned, Pip panics and jump overboard. Stubb, the harpooner is forced to cut the line and lose the whale, so that Pip won't die. He warns Pip that next time he will choose the whale. Pip jumped again and Stubb does not cut the line. Pip is alone, three miles of water beneath him and not a single living in sight. The sea had jeeringly kept his finite body up, but drowned the infinite of his soul. An hour passes, and by chance, the Pequod comes upon him, and the crew haul him aboard. Through Pip is alive, he has seen God's foot upon the tredle of the loom, and spoke it. The shipmates rendered him mad. So man's insanity is heaven's sense. (Moby-Dick by Melville).
Johna was rendered mad when he went to tell the God's message in Assyria, a great but evil empire, Israel's most dreaded enemy.
