Brâncovenii.
Las pe pāmînt cetāti si catedrale.
Dar cerurile-n ce mā vor primi?
Sā nu vin la Tine cu mîinile goale, 
Îngāduie-mi cu pruncii-a mā jertfí.

Va curge sîngele sfintind a mea lucrare,
Va închega tot ce am sfintit.
Acoperisurile de plumb ocrotitoare
Vor nimbá un neam fārā sfîrsit.  

La Hurezi cînd pus-am temelie,
Din pronaos am început-o, de la marmînt.
Locul spre slāvi sā-ajungā ctitorie.
Îi mai lipsea o jertfā pe pāmînt. (Ioan Alexandru)

Brâncovenii.
I leave fortresses and cathedrals on earth.
But what will the heavens receive me in?
Let me not come to You with empty hands,
Allow me to sacrifice myself with infants.
The blood will flow, sanctifying my work,
It will complete everything I have sanctified.
The protective lead roofs
Will resemble a nation without end.

At Hurezi when I laid the foundation,
I started from the narthex, from the tomb.
The place for glory to reach the foundation.
