"Ce poate avea omul în plus fatā de îngeri. Are în plus minusurile.
Viata omului e dramaticā, e viata spiritului întrupat, adicā a spritului pus într-o conditie foarte dificilā, dacā nu imposibilā. În corp fiind, noi dobîndim prin efort ceea ce îngerul are prin naturā.
Avem o 'temā' mai grea decît a 'duhurilor slujitoare', dar tocmai de aceea reusita, dacā existā, ne plaseazā dintr-o datā în postura de 'parteneri' ai lui Dumnezeu. 
Bernard de Clairvaux admite cā îngerii sînt mai fericiti neputîndu-si pierde castitatea, dar socoteste cā omul, aflat mereu sub atacul ispititorului, e mai puternic, chiar dacā mai putin fericit "(Andrei Plesu).

Nov 8. A Day of the Angels.

 

"What can a man have in addition to angels. He also has minuses.
Man's life is dramatic, it is the life of the embodied spirit, that is, of the spirit put in a very difficult, if not impossible, condition.
