Duminică 9 ianuarie. Două rugăciuni.

 

Fariseii stăteau puțin mai departe, cu hainele trase cu grijă în jurul lor. Erau foarte mulțumiți de ei înșiși. Erau siguri că și Dumnezeu era mulțumit de ei. Cât de sus erau, credeau ei, decât oamenii de rând, care stăteau, cu gura deschisă, la fiecare cuvânt pe care îl rostea Iisus.
Atunci Iisus le-a povestit ce s-a întâmplat când avea 12 ani, în Templu, în Casa Tatălui Său, ascultându-i pe profesorii cu barbă albă și punându-le întrebări.
Cele două rugăciuni:
- Fariseul: „O, Doamne, îți mulțumesc că nu sunt deloc ca vameșul ăla de colo”.
- Vameșul: „Te rog, Doamne, ascultă-mă și ajută-mă!”
- Iisus: „Oricine se face pe sine mare și important va fi coborât!”

 

Experiența Domnului nostru ca băiat de 12 ani este reflectată de Sfântul Ap. Pavel în scrisoarea 2 Timotei 3:15, „Din copilărie ai cunoscut Sfintele Scripturi, care pot să te facă înțelept... Toată Scriptura este insuflată de Dumnezeu”.

 

 

Sunday 9th Jan. The Two Prayers.
The Pharisees stood a little apart, their robes drawn carefully about them. They were very pleased with themselves. They were certain that God was pleased with them, too. How much better they were, they thought, than the common people, who set, open-mouthed, drinking in every word that Jesus spoke.
Then Jesus told them what happened when he was 12 years old in the Temple, in His Father's House, listening to the white-bearded teachers and asking them questions.
The Two Prayers :
-  The Pharisee :"O, God, I thank you that I am nothing like that tax collector over there". 
- The tax collector : "Please, God, hear me and give me help!"
- Jesus :"Everyone who makes himself great and important will be brought low!"
The experience of Our Lord as a 12 years boy is reflected by St. Ap Paul in 2 Timothy 3:15,
"From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise... All Scripture is God-breathed".
