Pride and prejudice.
The higher opinion a person has of himself, the more unstable is his position.
The lower he places himself in his own estimation, the firmer he stands.
Just as a man cannot rise into the air, so he shoud not prise himself too much.
When you prise yourself, you have the opposite effect to the one you desire, and appear lower in the eyes of others.
If you want to have a good name and not a bad name, do not praise yourself and do not allow others to praise you .
He who always listens to what other people say about him, will never find inner peace. (Tolstoy).
