Sf. Apostol Andrei, + 29 nov 60/70, ocrotitorul României.
Natura Sfântului Andrei era că aducea mereu oameni la Hristos.

Andrei a fost ucenic al lui Ioan Botezătorul înainte de a fi ucenic al lui Isus. Citim despre o întâlnire dintre Andrei, Ioan și Isus în Ioan 1:40-42: “Andrei, fratele lui Simon Petru, a fost unul dintre cei doi care au auzit ce spusese Ioan și care L-au urmat pe Iisus. Primul lucru pe care l-a făcut Andrei a fost să-l găsească pe fratele său Simon și să-i spună: „Am găsit pe Mesia” (adică pe Hristos). Și l-a adus la Isus.”
Ceea ce îmi place la natura lui Andrew a fost că el aducea mereu oameni la Hristos. Poate că făcuse același lucru pentru Ioan Botezătorul. Nu e de mirare că îi aducea pe alții la Isus. Poate că asta se datorează faptului că Andrei L-a recunoscut imediat pe Iisus ca fiind împlinirea mult-profețitului Mesia (Ioan 1:41).
Andrei și Filip au adus odată chiar și câțiva greci să se întâlnească cu Iisus (Ioan 12:22).
Lucrul care mă impresionează cel mai mult la Andrei este că a părăsit totul și pe toți pentru a-L urma pe Isus și apoi a fost hotărât să-i aducă pe alții la Hristos.
Cât de mult sunt și eu așa sau cât de departe în acea dorință de a părăsi totul și de a-i aduce pe alții la Hristos?

Sf. Andrei, ai grijă de cei ce-ți poartă numele, de România și creștinii din toată lumea!

St. Andrew’s nature was that he was always bringing people to Christ.

Andrew was  a disciple of John the Baptist before he was a disciple of Jesus.  We read of an encounter between Andrew, John and Jesus in John 1:40-42 :

“Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.”

 What I like about Andrew’s nature was that he was always bringing people to Christ.  Perhaps he had been doing the same thing for John the Baptist. It wouldn’t be surprising that he was bringing others to Jesus.  Maybe that’s because Andrew immediately recognized Jesus as the fulfillment of the long-prophesied Messiah (John 1:41). 
Andrew and Philipp once even brought some Greeks to meet Jesus (John 12:22).
The thing that impresses me most about Andrew is that he forsook everything and everyone to follow Jesus and then was determined to bring others to Christ. 
How much am I like that or how far do I fall short of that willingness to forsake all and bring others to Christ?
