ENDURANCE, ENCOURAGEMENT AND HOPE IN OUR SUFFERING (Romans 15:4)
Perhaps you feel that God is punishing you for some wrong you have done. You may feel you deserve all the trials you are going through.
Is that how it is?
It is true that God does not always intervene to keep sickness away from His children. But your sickness and your suffering can never pay for your sins. Only Jesus Christ can do that. It is by His sufferings, not yours, that you are made right with God.
And remember, God can graciously use even suffering for your ultimate good, if you humbly and sincerely commit it unto Him.
"But (Jesus) was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5)
WE HAVE TO READ THE SCRIPTURES (THE BIBLE) TO FIND ENDURANCE, ENCOURAGEMENT AND HOPE: "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope" (Romans 15:4).
The same GOD who gives endurance and encouragement may give us more: "the spirit of unity among ourselves as we follow Christ". As we grow in faith and come to know Jesus better, we will become more capable of maintaining this attitude of loving unity throughout each day.
