27th of July, St. Pantelimon, a Doctor and Healer, a Holistic Approach.
Panteleimon had been educated as a physician in Nicomedia, now Turkey. Soon he devoted all his talent to serving the poor, the suffering, the sick, the unfortunate and the needy without charge. He used to visit those held captive in prison.
He had a Holistic Health Education, the interconnection of mind, body, spirit and environment. As Socrates said in the 4th century before Christ, 'the part can never be well unless the whole is well'.
Pantelimon had the idea that healing is most effective when you cosider the whole person, rather than focusing on specific illnesses, body parts or symptoms. The three parts of holistic health are mental, physical, and spiritual health.
He died for his faith in Jesus on 27 July 303.
