Omul vindecat la Scāldātoarea Betezda (Ioan 5)

Duminica a 4-a după Paști.
Un bărbat vindecat la iazul Betesda (Ioan 15).
„Iată, te-ai făcut sănătos. Nu mai păcătui, ca să nu vină peste tine ceva mai rău”.

 

Un tânăr stătea în fața unui judecător și aștepta verdictul acestuia.
Când era copil, a căzut prin gheață pe un lac pe care se jucase. A început să țipe după ajutor, iar un bărbat care l-a văzut luptându-se să supraviețuiască, a coborât din mașină, a alergat la el și i-a salvat viața.
Omul acela era judecătorul!
„Domnule judecător”, a strigat tânărul, „atunci m-ați salvat. Nu vreți, vă rog, să mă salvați și acum?!”
„Îmi pare atât de rău, tinere”, a răspuns judecătorul. „Atunci eram salvatorul tău; acum sunt judecătorul tău”.

A young man sat before a judge waiting for his verdict.
When he was a child, he fell through the ice on a lake he had been playing on. He began to scream for help, and a man who saw him struggling to survive, got out of his car, ran to him, and saved his life.
That man was the judge!
"Your Honor" cried the young man, "you saved me then. Won't you please save me now?!"
"I'm so sorry, young man", replied the judge. "Then I was your savior; now I am your judge".
