The paralytic’s need moved his friends to action, and they brought him to Jesus. When you recognize someone’s need, do you act? Many people have physical and spiritual needs you can meet, either by yourself or with others who are also concerned. Human need moved these four men; let it also move you to compassionate action!
SINODUL ICONOCLAST din 17 Feb – 8 Aug 754 a avut loc in palatul imperial de la Hieria, situat pe tarmul asiatic al Bosforului, sub conducerea arhiepiscopului Teodosie al Efesului. Au participat 338 de episcopi. Sinodul a condamnat cultul icoanelor ca idolatrie, si a dispus arderea si profanarea moastelor sfintilor. Imparatul Constantin al V-lea a ordonat ca bisericile sa fie golite de icoane, mozaicurile si picturile murale sa fie acoperite cu un strat gros de var.
