Sentința dată de împăratul Galeriu Maximian asupra lui Dimitrie, guvernatorul provinciei Tesalonica:
„Tu, Dimitrie, creștin, te-ai impus ca un dușman al zeilor Romei și al practicilor noastre religioase.
Ai fost descoperit ca autor și lider al acestor crime odioase și, în consecință, vei fi prezentat ca un exemplu pentru toți cei care te-au urmat în crima ta.
Prin sângele tău legea va fi confirmată.
S-a hotărât ca Dimitrie să moară de suliță”.

26th Oct 306.
Sentence passed by Emperor Galeriu Maximian upon Demetrius, Governor of Thessalinica:
"You, Demetrius, a Christian,  have set yourself up as an enemy of the gods of Rome and our religious practices.
You have been discovered as the author and leader of these heinous crimes, and will consequently be held forth as an  example for all those who have followed you in your crime.
By your blood the law shall be confirmed.
It is decided that Demetrius should die by the spear."
