The Government forced Joseph to make a long trip of 70 miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem. His fiancee who had to go with him, was going to have a baby any moment. But when they arrived in Bethlehem, they couldn’t find a place to stay. Jesus will be born in a stable – stables were often caves with feeding troughs carved into the rock walls. (Luke 2.7)
