THE PRIVILEGES OF BEING HIS NAMESAKE.
1. The significance of being a Namesake : "Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name: and deliver us ... for Your name's sake (Psalm 79:9). We thank You for honoring us with Your name; now may we reflect honor on that name "Christian".
2. His namesakes are prepared to die well (79:11). Your program for our lives is extensive enough to guarantee us a victorious past, and trimphant death, and a glorious future.
3. He claims His namesakes as His own (79:13). We acknowledge that the more captive we are held by You, the freer we are to do what is best for us.
4. His namesakes were made for Himself (80:15) "All for Jesus, all for Jesus! All my being's ransomed powers: all my thoughts and words and doings, all my days and all my hours"
5. His namesakes are His right-hand men (80:17). May we keep all channels open, so there can be a free flow of spiritual life and power from You in and through us.
6. His namesakes can drow on His name (80:18) Since we have a joint-account relationship with the One who has a name above every name, in this world and the world to come, help us to learn to draw freely on Your name.
7. His namesakes follow a lumonous trail (80:19). Nothing between my soul and the Savour, so that His blessed face may be seen...
