LONGIN THE CENTURION

"Now when the centurion and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquakeand the things that were done, they feared greatly, saying: ' Truly this was the Son of God'" ( Matthew 27, 54).  The Jewish elders tried to bribe Longinus  to spread the falsehood that Christ had not risen, but without success. Longinus received baptism from the apostles and he was beheaded on October 16th
