13 Iulie 1744, Aducerea moastelor Sf. Cuvios Dimitrie cel Nou din localitatea Basarabi, Bulgaria, la Bucuresti.
13 Iulie 2025 este  Sārbātoare Aniversarā. 
La Patriarhia Românā:
Duminicā 13 Iulie, 7:00: Procesiunea cu moaștele Sf. Ioan Gură de Aur, Sf. Nectarie, Sfinții Împărați Constantin și Elena și Sf. Dimitrie cel Nou.
Urmează slujbă solemnă la Altarul de Vară al Catedralei Patriarhale.
Evenimentul reprezintă unul dintre cele mai mari pelerinaje ortodoxe din România, reunind credincioși din țară și diaspora. Conform tradiției, Sfântul Dimitrie este considerat ocrotitorul Bucureștilor, intervenind în diverse catastrofe istorice – de la ciumă până la incendii sau epidemii. Sărbătoarea aducerii moaștelor Sfântului Dimitrie cel Nou din 11–13 iulie 2025 promite un prilej unic de rugăciune, istorie și exemplu liturgic.

În fiecare an, moastele Sf. Dimitrie Catedrala Patriarhalā din Bucuresti sînt acoperite cu vesmînt nou.
Biserica noastrā,"Sf. Dimitrie" din Brisbane, pāstreazā vesmîntul care a acoperit Moastele Sf. Dimitrie cel Nou în anul 2006. Acest vesmînt a fost dāruit de vrednicul de pomenire Preafericitul Pārinte Patriarh Teoctist prin decizia 2368 din 29/05/2007. 

 

 

Spiritual Summer Celebration
July 13, 1744, Bringing the relics of St. Demetrius the New from Basaraby, Bulgaria, to Bucharest.
July 13, 2025 is an Anniversary Celebration.
At the Romanian Patriarchate:
Sunday, July 13, 7:00: Procession with the relics of St. John Chrysostom, St. Nectarius, the Holy Emperors Constantine and Helena, and St. Demetrius the New.
A solemn service follows at the Summer Altar of the Patriarchal Cathedral.
The event represents one of the largest Orthodox pilgrimages in Romania, bringing together believers from the country and the diaspora. According to tradition, St. Demetrius is considered the protector of Bucharest, intervening in various historical catastrophes – from plague to fires or epidemics. The Feast of the Transfer of the Relics of Saint Demetrius the New from July 11–13, 2025 promises a unique opportunity for prayer, history and liturgical example.
Every year, the relics of St. Demetrius in the Patriarchal Cathedral of Bucharest are covered with a new vestment.
Our church, "St. Demetrius" in Brisbane, preserves the vestment that covered the Relics of St. Demetrius the New in 2006. This vestment was donated by the worthy memory of His Beatitude Patriarch Teoctist by decision 2368 of 29/05/2007.
