Salomeea, purtătoarea de Mir.
Salomea L-a iubit pe Iisus la fel de mult ca pe cei doi fii ai ei, Iacov și Ioan, care și-au lăsat tatăl Zebedeu și mrejele de pescuit să-L urmeze.
Ea a zâmbit când a auzit că Iisus îi poreclise „Fiii tunetului” și i-a invitat în cercul Său intim, împreună cu Simon Petru.
Ea a auzit cum Iisus i-a condus pe cei trei pe muntele Tabor. Când au coborât, fiii ei blajini cu greu puteau vorbi. Dar apoi au spus întîmplarea.
Ea a lăsat în urmă casa confortabilă de pe malul de nord-vest al Galileii pentru a se alătura fiilor ei și, îngenuncheată în fața lui Iisus, a cerut ca fiii ei să stea la dreapta și la stânga Lui în împărăția Sa. În curând, bărbatul pe care ea îl rugase în genunchi ca pe un viitor rege, va muri el însuși pe o cruce, iar ea avea să fie una dintre femeile care vor fi martorii morții lui.
După ce totul s-a terminat, Salomeea poate să-și fi amintit chipurile bărbaților răstigniți împreună cu Iisus, unul la dreapta Sa și celălalt la stânga Sa, o amintire ironică a cererii ei pe drumul spre Ierusalim.
Alături de alte femei credincioase la cruce, Salomeea a fost prezentă în dimineața Învierii.
Cuvintele îngerului "A înviat! El nu este aici!" au mângâiat-o mai târziu în viață, când fiul ei Iacov a devenit primul apostol martir, murind de mâna lui Irod Agripa. (Anne Spangler, Femeile Bibliei).

Salome loved Jesus as much as her own two sons, James and John, who left their Zebedee father and fishing nets to follow Him.
She smiled when heard Jesus nicknamend them "the Sons of Thunder" and invited them into His inner circle, along with Simon Peter.
She heard how Jesus led the three up a high Tabor mountain. When they came down, her garrulous sons could hardly speak. But then the story came out.
She left behind ther comfortable home on the northwest shore of Galilee to join her sons and, kneeling before Jesus, asked for her sons to sit at His right and left in His kingdom. Soon, the man she had approached on her knee as a would-be king would himself die on a cross, and she would be one of the women who witnesses his death.
After it was over, Salome may have remembered the anguished faces of the men crucified with Jesus, one on His right hand and the other on His left - an ironic reminder of the request on the way to Jerusalim.
Along with other faithful women at the cross, Salome was present on the morning of Resurrection.
The angel's words "He has risen! He is not here!" would have comforted her later in life, when her son James became the first martyred apostle, dying at the hands of Herod Agripa. (Anne Spangler, Women of the Bible).
