Haru' peste tîlharu' : Fariseul și un vameș.
O revoluție a harului (Luca 18:9).
În povestea unui fariseu evlavios și a unui colector de taxe cu remușcări, vedem Evanghelia harului pe scurt.
Fariseul, care postește de două ori pe săptămână și dădea zeciuială conform programului, i-a mulțumit cu evlavie lui Dumnezeu că este mai presus de tâlhari, răufăcători și adulteri - și cu mult mai presus de vameșul care stătea deoparte.
Vameșul, prea umilit chiar și pentru a ridica ochii la cer, s-a rugat cea mai simplă rugăciune posibilă: „Doamne, miluiește-mă pe mine, păcătosul”.
- Iisus : „Vă spun că vameșul, și nu fariseul, s-a îndreptat în fața lui Dumnezeu când a plecat acasă!”
- Scepticul A.N.Wilson, în cartea sa „Iisus”, comentează: „Este o poveste șocantă, anarhică moral.
Tot ceea ce contează în poveste pare a fi capacitatea lui Dumnezeu de a ierta”.

A Revolution of Grace (Luke 18:9).
In the story of a pious Pharisee and a remorseful tax collector we see the gospel of grace in a nutshell.
The Pharisee, who fasted twice a week and tithed on shedule, piously thanked God that he was above robbers, evildoers and adulterers - and far above the tax collector standing to the side.
The tax collector, too humiliated even to raise his eyes to heavens, prayed the simplest prayer possible, "God, have mercy on me, a sinner".
- Jesus :"I tell you, the tax collector, and not the Pharisee, was in the right with God when he went home!"
- The skeptic A.N.Wilson, in his book "Jesus", comments : "It is a shocking, morraly anarchic story.
All that matters in the story appears to be God's capacity to forgive".
