Zaheu, un vameș cu remuşcări (Luca 19).

 

- Zaheu: „Doamne, voi răsplăti de patru ori tot ce am furat”!
- Iisus: „Fiul Omului a venit să caute și să mântuiască pe cel pierdut” (Luca 19).
- C.S.Lewis: „Creștinismul spune oamenilor să se pocăiască și le promite iertare.
Nu are nimic de spus oamenilor care nu știu că au făcut ceva rău și care nu simt nevoia de iertare.
După ce ai realizat că există o adevărată Lege Morală,
și o Putere în spatele Legii,
și ai încălcat acea Legea și ai greșit în fața acelei Puteri, - după acestă realizare,
și nici o clipă mai devreme, creștinismul începe să aibă sens!”.

- Jesus : "The Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost"( Luke 19).
- C.S.Lewis : "Christianity tells people to repent and promises them forgiveness.
It has nothing to say to people who do not know they have done anyting to repent and who do not feel that they need any forgiveness.
It is after you have realised that there is a real Moral Law,
and a Power behind the Law,
and you have broken that Law and put yourself wrong with that Power, - it is after all this,
and not a moment sooner, that Christianity begins to talk".
