THE SECRET OF PEACE.

1. We have peace when we make a creative use of distress (Psalm 118:5).  Thank You, Lord, for giving us the secret of keeping peaceful in spite of distressful emptiness, by refilling us with something better than we had before.

2. When the Lord is on our side (118:6).  With You as our Partner we can do anything but fail, and we can make our plans big.

3.  We can have peace by putting our trust in the Lord (118:8).  Your integrity and Your immutability give us a shatterproof confidence in the worth and meaning of life, and for this we thank You.

4. If we give the Lord credit for everything (118:23).  May we give the credit for everything to You, so we can say without reservation, "it is marvellous in our eyes".

5. If we consider each day a gift from the Lord (118:24). We rejoice and are glad and peaceful every time we receive a day from You. Now we return this day to You in appreciation and service.

6. If we walk in the light (118:27).  We are thankful for Your provision which makes it possible for us to live clean from day to day. May we never allow a performance gap to come between our light and our obedience.

7. We can have peace if we keep our accounts up-to-date with the Lord (118:27).  May we keep all of our sacrifice on the altar, so we can keep our wills adjusted to Your will.
