~1,700  YEARS OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM ( THE EDICT OF MILAN 313).  

A shining cross appeared to Constantine  with written words:" In this sign, conquer".  By the power of the Cross, he gained a glorious victory. He issued the famous Edict of Milan, in 313, to put an end to the persecution of Christians. Bishop Sylvester baptized him and his body was healed from leprosy. He died  at the age of sixty in 337.

THE PLACE WHERE THE HOLY CROSS WAS FOUND.  St. Helena, the Emperor's devout mother visited Jerusalem found the Precious  Cross and built the Church of Resurrection. She died at the age of eighty in 327.
